Mets manager Terry Collins said Friday that he's hoping to get 25 starts out of Johan Santana (shoulder) in 2012. The Mets are expecting Santana to be ready at the beginning of spring training, but general manager Sandy Alderson has labeled the left-hander as a "question mark" for Opening Day. Given that he's now 16 months removed from shoulder surgery but still can't be counted on for the start of the 2012 season, we'd have to consider 25 starts to be on the high end of projections for him. There's just no way of knowing until he starts letting it loose in spring training.
