Mets manager Terry Collins said Andres Torres (calf) ran "well" in a minor league game and the team hopes he'll be ready for Opening Day. It's not a given, though, as the Mets are having Torres play in minor league games just in case they need to backdate a DL move. Scott Hairston would handle center field if Torres isn't ready.
