Mets designated SS Omar Quintanilla for assignment. Quintanilla was starting back-to-back games for the Mets as recently as Monday, but they apparently decided they've got better options for the 40-man roster between then and now. Quintanilla was hitting .207/.258/.241 in 29 at-bats this year. A corresponding roster move will be announced tomorrow.
