Mets declined LHP Johan Santana's $25 million option for 2014. A mere formality. Santana, of course, missed all of 2013 after having surgery to repair a re-tear in the capsule in the front of his left shoulder. He'll receive a $5.5 million buyout instead. The veteran left-hander has resumed throwing and is hoping to be ready for spring training. Someone will take a shot on him with an incentive-laden deal.
