Medlen (shoulder) could be shut down for a few weeks according to manager Ned Yost, Rustin Dodd of the Kansas City Star Telegram reports.

Medlen exited his rehab start Tuesday with a Grade 1 right shoulder strain that will force him to miss even more time on the disabled list. He will likely not return until the second week of August, barring any more setbacks. There is no timetable on when Medlen will resume throwing, but he will have to undergo a couple rehab games before he is ready to rejoin the club.
