McFarland (knee) will leave be sent on his rehab assignment by the end of the week, Eduardo A. Encina of The Baltimore Sun reports.

The Orioles plan to have McFarland pitch 2-3 innings with their Gulf Coast League affiliate, then send him on a rehab assignment shortly after.
