McCann went for X-rays on his toe after Tuesday's win against the Blue Jays, and he will not be available for Wednesday's game, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports.

He fouled a ball off his toe in Tuesday's game and was replaced by Andrew Romine, who will get the start Wednesday with McCann set to miss at least one game due to the injury. The results of the X-rays should be available Tuesday night or Wednesday morning, and hopefully it is just a minor malady that won't cause McCann to go on the disabled list. If he does have to miss significant time, however, slugging catching prospect Gary Sanchez would likely get the call and take on a prominent role.
