McCann went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI in Wednesday's victory over the Tigers. McCann now has as many home runs in August as he did during the month of July. He's hit safely in four straight games, bringing his season batting average up to .239 on the year. The regular backstop could be set to see some time at first base over the next day or two, as Mark Teixeira will miss at least Thursday's game due to a deep cut on his pinky finger.
