McCann was removed from Sunday's Grapefruit League game after he was hit above the kneecap on a CC Sabathia pitch, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.

Manager Joe Girardi relayed that McCann left the contest because his knee stiffened, but the catcher is expected to be OK. Despite Girardi's optimism, McCann will likely fit in a few-day respite in order to avoid the injury lingering into the latter stages of the spring.
