McCann was removed from Sunday's game against the Rangers because of a cramp in his foot/calf, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports.
McCann made the final out of the eighth inning, flying out to center field to finish his day 1-for-4 with two RBI. He was then replaced by John Ryan Murphy for the top of the ninth inning, having apparently aggravated his foot during his last at-bat. While the injury is officially being called a cramp, Yankees manager Joe Girardi acknowledged that he's a bit concerned, hinting that it could very well be something more serious. The Yankees have a 1 PM ET start time against the Royals on Monday.
