McCann is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays. McCann went 4-for-8 with a home run, two doubles, and four RBI over his last two games, but he will be held out Wednesday with the Yankees playing a day game following a night game and facing Rays left-hander Drew Smyly. John Ryan Murphy will serve as the Yankees' backstop in McCann's place.
