Padres manager Mike Shildt said Saturday that Tatis (thigh) might be activated from the injured list without going on a minor-league rehab assignment, per MLB.com.
EDGE Analysis
Tatis recently began taking at-bats against live pitching at San Diego's spring-training complex in Arizona, and before that he had resumed running sprints on the field. While Tatis has been sidelined from game action for over two months, San Diego may be willing to allow him to bypass a rehab stint, which would hasten his return to the big club -- and to fantasy lineups. The star outfielder slashed .279/.354/.468 with 14 home runs, 36 RBI and eight steals over 80 games prior to getting hurt.
