Right-hander Byung-ho Park will take over at first base in place of Mauer on Wednesday with the Twins facing lefty Sean Manaea. Mauer hasn't necessarily struggled against southpaws this season, batting .275, but Manaea has been tough on left-handed bats to the tune of a .130 batting average against. Wednesday marks Mauer's first day off since May 21.
