Matz (elbow) is scheduled to come off the disabled list and rejoin the Mets rotation either June 10 or June 11 against the Braves, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Terry Collins confirmed Saturday that Matz wouldn't require any further rehab starts with Triple-A Las Vegas after the lefty tossed 90 pitches and allowed five runs over 4.1 innings earlier that day. While injuries have dogged Matz throughout his career, he's been a fantasy asset when healthy, churning out a 3.16 ERA and 163 strikeouts over 168 MLB innings. Matz, who has been sidelined all season with elbow soreness, isn't expected to face any limits with his pitch count upon rejoining the Mets. With Matz and Seth Lugo (elbow) both set to come off the disabled list next weekend and take back rotation spots, Robert Gsellman and Tyler Pill will either move to the bullpen or head to the minors.
