Matz (8-8) gave up six runs on six hits and a walk while striking out six in Wednesday's road loss to the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
All the damage came in the first two innings -- a three-run rally in the first, a three-run homer by Mark Teixeira in the second -- and then Matz settled down, allowing only a single baserunner over his final four innings. The silver lining of six whiffs and good WHIP helps a little, but it doesn't get easier for Matz, as his next start will come against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
