Detroit Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said that left-hander Matthew Boyd (arm, neck) will throw off a mound for the first time this weekend. Boyd had previously been throwing on flat ground and doing long toss. He went on the injured list in mid-June with muscle discomfort in his left arm and has also dealt with neck issues this year, so Boyd may not be an option for the Tigers rotation or fantasy managers until possibly September.
