Los Angeles Angels right-handed pitcher Matt Shoemaker (forearm) has been placed on the 10-day DL, retroactive to April 1. Shoemaker has been diagnosed with a right forearm strain. For now, very little is known as to how long he will be out. In his stead the team recalled Parker Bridwell. Bridwell was thought to have the upper hand on a rotation spot in spring training, but will now get a chance to showcase his stuff with Shoemaker on the shelf.
