Matt Shoemaker gave up three runs -- two earned -- in five innings Saturday in a no-decision vs. the Royals. Kansas City won it in extra innings. Shoemaker again had good results, striking out six batters while issuing only one walk. He has a 3.18 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 20 strikeouts in 22 2/3 innings this season, but regression is probably afoot for the 27-year-old. He will meet the Mariners in Seattle next time through.
