Matt Moore has been diagnosed with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow. It's a near-certainty that Moore will require Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery, which would cost him the rest of the 2014 season and even part of 2015. The talented 24-year-old left-hander suffered the torn ligament Tuesday in his second start of the year. He owns a cool 3.53 ERA and 339 strikeouts in his first 347 major league frames, but now his career will likely have to be put on hold.
