Matt Moore delivered a terrific performance in Saturday's victory over the White Sox, allowing just one hit and two walks over 5 1/3 scoreless innings. Moore racked up five strikeouts on the afternoon. It was a stellar bounce-back effort from the young left-hander who hadn't gone more than four innings in any of his previous three starts. He has struggled mightily to meet the lofty expectations set for him before the season, and has faded quickly down the stretch, but Moore has still had a solid season for a 23-year-old rookie. He'll finish the regular season with an 11-11 record, 3.81 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 175/81 K/BB ratio over 177 1/3 innings. His 175 strikeouts represent a new rookie record among Rays' hurlers.
