The Detroit Tigers placed right-handers Matt Manning (forearm) and Kerry Carpenter (back) on the injured list on Thursday and selected the contract of right-hander Miguel Diaz from Triple-A Toledo and recalled utility man Kody Clemens from Toledo in corresponding moves.
