The Philadelphia Phillies placed outfielder Matt Joyce (back) on the 10-day injured list due to a lower back strain on Saturday. Fellow outfielder Matt Vierling was called up from Triple-A in a corresponding move. The team also called up catcher Rafael Marchan while placing catcher Andrew Knapp on the seven-day concussion injured list. Joyce has struggled significantly at the plate this year. Over 36 games, he's slashed .100/.258/.240 with two home runs, six RBI and five runs.
