Matt Holliday went 3-for-5 with three runs batted in as the Cardinals defeated the Braves on Wednesday. Holliday knocked in a pair with a fourth-inning single, and brought in one more with a single in the ninth inning. That all three hits were singles is noteworthy, as Holliday has been noticeably devoid of power thus far, carrying a .392 SLG through 149 plate appearances. He has hit at least 22 home runs in each season dating back to 2006, but currently has two, putting him on pace for nine over a full season.
