Matt den Dekker went 2-for-3 and hit his first spring homer Thursday versus the Marlins. Den Dekker is the Mets' best defensive center fielder, but his bat has always been in question. After a couple of very good months in Double-A last year, he went up to Triple-A and hit .220/.256/.373 in 295 at-bats. For that reason, it's doubtful he'll make the Mets out of spring training. If he improves in Triple-A, he'll probably get a shot.
