Matt den Dekker went 1-for-5 with a single and a run scored Monday against the Phillies. With Juan Lagares on the DL, Mets manager Terry Collins put den Dekker in the leadoff spot Monday. However, he's mostly in the lineup for his defense, which he showed with a leaping catch and a throw to nail a runner at home plate. Given the way Bobby Abreu is playing right now, he might be the team's best option out of the leadoff spot.
