Matt Carpenter went 3-for-4 with an RBI in Wednesday's win over Giants. Carpenter is riding a seven-game hitting streak and has collected three hits in two of his last three. The veteran third sacker is getting on base as he usually does -- a .378 clip -- but isn't squeezing enough juice out of his swings, with a drop in gap power this year. His slugging percentage is .389, down from a career .448 mark, and Carpenter is on pace for 36 doubles and eight homers, down from 55 doubles and 11 long flies last season.
