Matt Carpenter had a nice night at the dish in Sunday's loss to the Red Sox in Game 4 of the World Series, going 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI.
Unfortunately, the rest of the Cardinals offense totaled just four hits on the evening. Carpenter singled and scored on a Carlos Beltran single in the third inning to get the Cardinals on the board, then drove in their other run with an RBI single in the seventh. He has struggled at the plate for most of the postseason, hitting just .200 (12-for-60), but appears to be heating up just when it's absolutely needed most. The Cardinals will look to regain the upper hand in the series when they host Game 5 on Monday.
