Matt Cain will start Game 3 of the NLCS against the Cardinals on Wednesday. That was the assumption already, but it's now official. The real question is whether the Giants will go with Tim Lincecum or Barry Zito in Game 4. Cain allowed six runs in 10 2/3 innings (5.06 ERA) over two starts during the NLDS against the Reds. He currently lines up to pitch a possible Game 7 next Monday.
