Matt Cain was denied a win after throwing seven scoreless innings against the Cubs on Thursday. Cain left with a 1-0 lead, only to see it blown by Brian Wilson in the ninth. Wilson shouldn't get nearly all of the blame here, though, as the Giants offense was simply pathetic in getting shut down by reliever Marcos Mateo for five innings after Carlos Zambrano left with a back injury. Cain will have to settle for a 4-0 month of June.
