Matt Cain was a hard-luck loser after limiting the Padres to an unearned run over seven innings on Friday. The lone run came on the first on what was originally ruled a wild pitch, but was later changed to a passed ball. Cain struck out eight for the second start in a row. He's now 0-3 despite a 2.88 ERA. The Giants are scoring runs, just not for him.
