Matt Cain stifled the Rockies' offense on Saturday, allowing just two runs on seven hits over 7 1/3 innings as the Giants rolled to an easy victory. Cain fanned six and walked just one. The Rockies got on the board in the sixth inning, when Josh Rutledge plated a run on a fielder's choice. Cain then surrendered a solo homer to D.J. LeMahieu before departing in the eighth inning. It was a nice rebound effort from the San Francisco righty, who was hit hard by the Cardinals earlier this week. He'll head into Friday's start against the Padres in San Diego with an 11-5 record, 2.99 ERA and 148/33 K/BB ratio.
