Matt Cain stifled the Cubs bats on Saturday, allowing just one run on five hits over eight masterful innings. Cain struck out seven and walked two in the outing. The lone run scored against him came courtesy of a solo home run from David DeJesus in the fourth inning. With the win, Cain improves to 6-2 on the season and lowers his already pristine ERA to 2.62. His 73/14 strikeout to walk ratio through 79 innings is among the best in the league as well. Every season it seems like Cain is underrated, yet he remains one of the strongest pitchers in the league. He'll look to continue his dominance when he takes on the Padres in San Diego on Thursday.
