Matt Cain shut out the Reds for seven innings in a no-decision on Saturday. Cain earned his previous three losses, but he deserved better than a no-decision tonight. At least his owners should be encouraged by the rebound performance. He threw pretty well last time out, too, before giving up three runs in the eighth against the Padres. He still figures to be a reliable mixed-league starter the rest of the way.
