Matt Cain pitched eight innings of one-run ball and struck out six in a victory over the Padres on Friday. Cain cruised tonight after the Giants got him nine runs in the first three innings. He allowed just four hits and walked none in his 12th win of the year. It was just his seventh victory in 30 career starts against the Padres.
