Matt Cain (hamstring) will not start on Monday against the Cubs. Cain exited Wednesday's outing versus the Rockies with a right hamstring strain and had to cut a bullpen session short Saturday due to continued soreness. The hope is that he'll miss just the one start, so the Giants aren't placing him on the disabled list yet. Yusmeiro Petit will start in Cain's place Monday.
