Matt Cain allowed five runs (three earned) on six hits in seven innings of work on Tuesday, taking a no-decision in San Francisco's 7-5 loss to the Padres. He struck out five and walked none. Cain's biggest mistake came in the second, where he surrendered a two-run homer to a red hot Kyle Blanks. Since the All-Star break, San Francisco's No. 2 starter is just 2-4 over eight starts despite posting a 2.52 ERA and 43/12 K/BB ratio in 53 2/3 innings.
