Updating a previous report, Washington Nationals first baseman Matt Adams was removed from the game on Tuesday with back spasms. Adams struck out in his only plate appearance against the Phillies and starter Zach Eflin on Tuesday before he was taken out and replaced by Ryan Zimmerman. Adams is hitless on the year with three strikeouts in just four plate appearances in 2019.
