Mat Latos was slapped with a hard-luck loss versus his former team on Monday, yielding only one run on one hit over seven innings in a 1-0 setback in San Diego. Latos punched out four and walked one in his fourth start of the season. Latos, who was employed between 2009-11 in San Diego, matched a season-high of seven innings pitched. He is still working on his velocity, but that will come, as will an increase in strikeouts. The Reds, 6-0-1 in their past seven series, saw their five-game winning streak snapped. Latos (1-1, 2.45 ERA) hosts Milwaukee this weekend.
