Mat Latos was denied a win against the Padres after shutting out his old team for seven innings for seven innings on Thursday. Matched up against one of the guys he was traded for in Edinson Volquez, Latos left with a 1-0 lead. However, the bullpen blew that in the eighth and then lost it in the ninth. Latos has allowed two runs over 25 innings in his last three starts, lowering his ERA from 5.20 to 4.13.
