Mat Latos turned in a tremendous performance out of the bullpen on Saturday, tossing four innings of one-run ball in the Reds' NLDS Game 1 defeat of the Giants. Latos allowed four hits and a walk while striking out one. After Johnny Cueto was forced to leave the game just eight pitches into his start due to back spasms, Sam LeCure came on and tossed 1 2/3 innings while Latos warmed. Mat came on to start the third inning and kept the Giants at bay until the sixth when Buster Posey swatted a solo homer. Latos ended up throwing only 57 pitches in the outing, so he could still be used in Game 4 of this series if necessary.
