Mat Latos threw for 10 minutes from 45 feet Wednesday, five days after having surgery on his left knee. The minor surgery to repair a tear in the meniscus of his left knee wasn't supposed to keep him down long, but Latos has exceeded even optimistic expectations in the first few days after the operation. He didn't do any strenuous work, granted, but it's a good sign that he's already feeling well enough to do baseball activities. It's unclear what and when the next step in his recovery will be.
