Mat Latos (elbow) hopes to resume throwing off a mound within the next week. Latos had to halt his throwing program in early April after being diagnosed with a flexor mass strain in his right elbow. He played catch on flat ground Friday and had no issues, but the real test will come when he begins throwing off a slope at full speed. There is no timetable for Latos' 2014 regular season debut.
