Martin hit his first home run for Triple-A Tacoma in Sunday's win over New Orleans and is slashing .260/.302/.440 over 50 at-bats for the Rainiers.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old appears to slowly be rediscovering his stroke following an atrocious start to his major-league season that ultimately led to him being designated for assignment. Martin has been putting good wood on the ball against Triple-A arms, compiling four doubles, a triple and Sunday's homer over his 12 games thus far. A return to the big-league club doesn't appear imminent with the likes of Guillermo Heredia and Ben Gamel playing well in the absence of Mitch Haniger (oblique). However, the time refining his game at the minor-league level could ultimately pay dividends for Martin, who was hitting just .111 with the Mariners.
