Byrd had an RBI single in the first inning before blasting his 18th home run of the season, a solo shot, in the seventh. Byrd's 18 home runs are second-most in the National League. He's been especially homer-happy of late, with five in his last seven games. The outfielder, who has enjoyed a career resurgence the past two seasons, is batting .266/.317/.497.
