Marlon Byrd ripped a two-run homer in Thursday's loss to the Reds. Byrd and Carlos Pena both had two-run blasts in the first inning and the Cubs didn't score again until getting to Reds closer CoCo Cordero for two in the ninth. The outfielder is batting only .186 this month.
