Marlins signed 1B Casey Kotchman to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. The Marlins are moving Logan Morrison to first base this season, but he's recovering from knee surgery and might not be ready for Opening Day. Kotchman will offer protection at the position and then could stick around in a bench role when LoMo is healthy. The soon-to-be 30-year-old batted just .229/.280/.333 for the Indians last season.
