Marlins president Larry Beinfest is unsure if Juan Carlos Oviedo will be available for the 2012 season. Oviedo, formerly known as Leo Nunez, will not face charges in the Dominican Republic related to his identity fraud case, but evidently there are still some hurdles to clear in order for the U.S. government and Major League Baseball to allow him to return. The Marlins have tendered their former closer a contract but might end up trading him even if he does manage to make it to the states in time for spring training.
