Mark Teixeira (wrist) wasn't cleared to begin swinging a bat Friday as originally hoped. Teixeira's latest timetable has him returning in early May, but it's sounds like this is at least a minor setback. Considering he's yet to play in a game this season, Teixeira will likely need a lengthy rehab assignment so he still has a lot of hurdles to cross in order to meet his optimistic goal. The Yankees will continue to go with Lyle Overbay and Kevin Youkilis in his absence.
