Mariners signed RHP Scott Baker to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish reports that he'll receive a $1 million salary if he makes the team. Baker missed all of 2012 following Tommy John surgery and made just three late-season starts with the Cubs last season, so he ultimately had to settle for a minor league deal. The 32-year-old posted a 3.92 ERA from 2008-2011 while averaging 7.6 K/9 and 2.2 BB/9, so it's a fine gamble for Seattle. He's one to watch in the spring.
