Mariners placed SS Brendan Ryan on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to August 4, with a sprained AC joint in his left shoulder. As expected. Ryan suffered the injury in a collision with teammate Adam Kennedy last Wednesday and will likely need 10-14 days before he is ready for game action. Jack Wilson will likely see most of the playing time at shortstop during his absence.
